Background
Television Producer/Director/Writer
Joseph Pipher has been a producer/director/writer of television programs, documentaries, commercials and educational projects for the past thirty years. He has won or been nominated for nearly every conceivable award for excellence in television, especially for children and family programs.
Most recently, Pipher produced/directed/wrote the award-winning
PBS primetime special "When Parents Are Deployed",
hosted by Cuba Gooding, Jr., which depicts the dilemma of
deployed parents. This program is nominated for the 2007 Emmy awards in the catagory of Outstanding Primetime Children's Program.
Pipher's background includes being the youngest Director of
Photography admitted to the Local Hollywood Chapter of International
Photographers; TV Commercial Directing (over 1,000 national
spots); developing the Dave Thomas Wendy's Campaign; co-creating,
producing and directing the internationally renowned PBS parenting
series "Touchpoints" with Dr. T. Berry Brazelton; television
writer for "Derby", a primetime movie-of-the-week for
ABC; and dozens of Sesame Workshop projects for broadcast
and home video.
Pipher created JoLee TV Corp. (JoLeeTV.com) in 1997 to manage
the majority of his production activities. For the past nine
years, he has worked extensively on a variety of projects
for Sesame Workshop (see credits). In addition, Pipher created
projects for HIT Entertainment's "Bob the Builder"
and "Barney", created the design for the international
launch of the Wine TV Channel, and last summer was Executive
Producer for the overall event and the international broadcast
of the Yankees New Stadium Groundbreaking Ceremony.
Pipher grew up on a farm in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. He has worked on both coasts, and everywhere in between, and throughout Europe. He presently works in Manhattan and resides in Connecticut with his wife and three children.
